Day One
Time Spent Volunteering Today: 4 Hours (all with KitTea)
Time Spent Volunteering Total: 4 Hours
Time Spent on Project Today: 4 Hours
Time Spent Blogging: 1 Hour
Time Spent on Project Total: 5 Hours
Today was a slight fail, but also a success. There was a miscommunication between me and one of my internships - the one at KitTea - , and this means that today might be the only day that I am able to volunteer there during senior project. But it was a good day overall - I got to work with cats, and saw the positive benefits of that happening. But as I was confirming yesterday to arrange more hours, and it turns out I needed to do a trial day. This was something I didn't realize earlier as it was never made clear to me. Because of this, I arranged to start today, as opposed to two weeks prior. Assuming I get selected to work more, I will do so. I also take responsibility for the miscommunication on my end. I did learn from this, though. But in the mean time, if I don't get to work, I will fill my hours with editing books and the Maker Faire. I also should be able to begin working at the Hospital starting on Monday. So all is not lost, and I have my head in the game.
This is the link to my final project, which will be a website for teens about healthcare options and services in the Bay Area. https://sites.google.com/view/healthcareforteensinbayarea/home. I am going to try and get a good grasp on the pages I want by the end of tomorrow, a day I wasn't planning on working anyways.
What in the world took you 4 HOURS for one website with a grand total of 3 fairly empty pages (Home, Planned Parenthood, and Larkin Street Youth)?!?!?!, you might ask with some degree of disbelief. I would tell you that design is hard. I went though a few other sites (http://healthcareforteensinthebayareabyhd.blogspot.com/ and http://healthcareinthebayarea2017.weebly.com). Both of these sites are minimally edited, because I found the two websites too frustrating to actually use for my final senior project. (But they are both good sites which I have used for different things (these senior blogs and other projects, respectively.)
